Before you apply a new wax, sealant, or ceramic coating, your paint needs to be completely free of the old one. Jax Wax Strip Shampoo is a high-strength degreasing shampoo that strips away old wax, sealant residue, polish oils, and surface contaminants in a single wash — leaving your paint chemically clean and ready to bond with whatever protection you apply next.

At Chicago Jax Wax, we use Strip Shampoo as the first step in any full decontamination or coating prep workflow. It's also the right choice when you want to start fresh — removing months of product buildup so you can assess the true condition of the paint before polishing. Think of it as hitting the reset button on your paint protection.

When to Use Strip Shampoo

  • Before applying a new ceramic coating, graphene sealant, or wax
  • Before paint correction to remove polish oils and product residue
  • When old wax or sealant has built up and needs to be fully removed
  • As part of a full decontamination wash before claying
  • Any time you want to assess the true, unprotected condition of your paint

What It Does

  • Strips wax, sealants & polish oils — high-strength degreasing formula removes all surface protection in one wash
  • Leaves paint chemically clean — ensures maximum bonding for any coating or protection applied after
  • Safe on paint, glass & trim — powerful but paint-safe formula
  • Works in foam cannon or bucket wash — versatile for any wash setup

How to Use

  1. Rinse the vehicle thoroughly to remove loose dirt
  2. Mix Strip Shampoo per label directions in your foam cannon or wash bucket — use a higher concentration than a regular shampoo for full stripping
  3. Wash the entire vehicle panel by panel, working from top to bottom
  4. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean microfiber towel
  5. Proceed immediately with claying, polishing, or coating application

Pro tip: After stripping, run your hand across the paint. If it feels slightly rough or tacky, it's clean and ready for the next step. If it still feels slick, do another pass with Strip Shampoo.
